Minimum wages in Rwanda

Annual Leave Laws

Did you know that a worker is entitled to take a paid leave of 18 days post completion of one year of service? The paid leave you can take increases by one day after every three years of continuous service. However, the annual leave cannot exceed 21 days in any scenario. Forced Leave

Did you know that in Rwanda, a person who forcefully imposes labour upon an individual is liable to six to forty months of imprisonment and/or a fine of 0.5-2 million Rwandan francs? Health and Safety

The Labor Code in Rwanda states that an employer is required to maintain health and safety standards at the workplace. An employer is required to maintain a common state of cleanliness and presentation of hygiene at all times. Moreover, workers must be provided with first aid kits, required tools for work, and assurance of protection in the case of any unforeseen circumstance related to the workplace. Maternity Leave

Going to give birth soon but worried about losing your job? Rwandan law grants female workers the right to return to the same position after availing maternity leave, or be given another role with the same position and salary as she had prior to leave.
