45% vocational education teachers have permanent contract

25 Apr,2024 - With 15 years of work experience, vocational education teachers will earn from ZAR659 to ZAR31,691 monthly. On the whole, people in this job feel satisfied about their job. This feeling is shared by 33% of the people in this job. This is made clear in research by Mywage.org/Zimbabwe, conducted in 2024.

Inexperienced vocational education teachers earn hourly wage between ZAR17 and ZAR160

Workers with 05 years of work experience earn the highest salary: between ZAR1,562 and ZAR32,253 per month. Workers starting out on the job, with 1 year of experience, can expect to earn between ZAR17 and ZAR160 per hour.

54% says they are male, while 46% entered female as their gender. 48% of workers in this occupation state that they do not have any children. The age group for workers who answered the survey was mostly between 24 and 29 years of age.

Average working week of 40 hours

According to our survey, coverage by collective bargaining among workers is set at 6%. 94% are not covered by a collective agreement. On average, workers in this occupation work 40 hours per week.

62% of vocational education teachers fewer than 5 years of work experience

14% of all participating workers work in a multinational organisation. For most workers, the majority of their coworkers are female. 62% of people in this job have worked fewer than 5 years since their first job. 55% of workers in this occupation state that they have no permanent contract for their job. Employees who have a permanent contract for the work they are performing, add up to 45%. Workers mostly work in organisations consisting of 500 or more people.

In the survey, 8% of the workers in this occupation choose 'highly satisfied' as their job satisfaction level. In general, most people in this job are satisfied with their position. This is the case for 33% of the people in this job.

Of all surveyed employees, 32% feel highly dissatisfied about their salary. 47% of the workers reports to be dissatisfied with their wage.
