Concrete placers, concrete finishers that have worked for 30 years, receive between Ksh42,296 and Ksh106,550 per month. Among the employees who share information on their wages and working conditions, most are male. This is the conclusion of research carried out by Mywage.org/Kenya, in 2023.
Salary for starting concrete placers, concrete finishers between Ksh28,606 and Ksh58,393 per month
Based on our survey, workers with 20 years of work experience earn the highest salary: between Ksh51,021 and Ksh130,625 per month. Based on one year of work experience, starting workers in this occupation who are new to their job will earn between Ksh28,606 and Ksh58,393 per month.
Of the respondents, 17% are female and 83% are male.
Average working week of 43 hours
Coverage by collective bargaining amongst employees is 1%, while 99% are not covered by a collective agreement, according to our survey. Workers in this occupation work 43 hours per week on average.
Coworkers mostly male
Since starting their first job, 54% of workers have worked fewer than 5 years. Of the participating employees, 29% work in a multinational organisation. Workers who have a permanent contract for the work they are performing, add up to 51%. People in this job who do not have a permanent contract for the work they are performing, added up to 49% of respondents. The majority of people in this job work in organisations of 500 or more employees. For most workers in this occupation, the majority of their coworkers are male.
Of all surveyed workers in this occupation, 26% feel in between satisfied and dissatisfied about their salary. Generally, 41% of the workers report they are dissatisfied with their salary.
