Coverage by collective bargaining amongst workers is 19%, while 81% are not covered by a collective agreement, according to our survey. This is made clear in research by Mywage.org/Ghana, conducted in 2023.
Inexperienced personal care workers in health services earn hourly wage between GH₵3 and GH₵10
People in this job with 25 years of work experience earn the highest salary: between GH₵828 and GH₵4,074 per month. Employees starting out on the job, with 1 year of experience, can expect to earn between GH₵3 and GH₵10 per hour.
Personal care workers in health services mostly male
Among the workers who share information on their wages and working conditions, most are male. Employees who answered the survey are mostly between 24 and 29 years of age. Of the workers who participated in the survey, 68% have no children.

Coworkers mostly female
In most cases, employees report that the majority of their coworkers are female. 44% of people in this job state that they have a permanent contract for the work that they are doing. Of the participating employees, 21% work in a multinational organisation. 56% of employees have worked fewer than 5 years since their first job. Employees mostly work in organisations consisting of 500 or more people. People in this job who do not have a permanent contract for the work they are performing, added up to 56% of respondents.
