In general, most workers are in between satisfied and dissatisfied with their position. This is the case for 29% of the workers. This is evident from research conducted by Mywage.org/Zambia, in 2023.
Inexperienced interior designers and decorators earn hourly wage between K25 and K77
Based on our survey, people in this job with 20 years of work experience earn the highest salary: between K7,904 and K35,622 per month. People in this job earn between K25 and K77 per hour at the start of the career, having 1 year of work experience.
Interior designers and decorators mostly male
Of the respondents, 44% are female and 56% are male. Workers in this occupation who answered the survey are mostly between 24 and 29 years of age. 40% of workers state that they do not have any children.
Average working week of 41 hours
According to our survey, coverage by collective bargaining among workers is set at 7%. 93% are not covered by a collective agreement. Workers work 41 hours per week on average.
Majority organisations employ 500 or more workers
43% of people in this job state that they have no permanent contract for their job. Of the participating employees, 32% work in a multinational organisation. The majority of workers in this occupation work in organisations of 500 or more employees. Since starting their first job, 55% of employees have worked fewer than 5 years. 57% of employees state that they have a permanent contract for the work that they are doing.
