Wage satisfaction low among hand packers

3 Jun 2023 - Based on 30 years of work experience, hand packers will earn between USh940,815 and USh1,070,682 per month. 100% of workers in this occupation state that they have no permanent contract for their job. This is evident from research conducted by Mywage.org/Uganda, in 2023.

Employees with 25 years of work experience earn the highest salary: between USh680,961 and USh1,076,726 per month. Veteran employees, working for at least 30 years, receive between USh4,527 and USh5,151 per hour.

Hand packers mostly female

Of the respondents, 72% are female and 28% are male. The age group for employees who answered the survey was mostly between 24 and 29 years of age.

On average, workers in this occupation work 60 hours per week.

Majority organisations employ 500 or more workers

Workers who do not have a permanent contract for the work they are performing, added up to 100% of respondents. For most employees, the majority of their coworkers are female. 3% of all participating employees work in a multinational organisation. 54% of employees have worked 5-10 years since their first job. The majority of workers in this occupation work in organisations of 500 or more employees.
