Based on 20 years of work experience, workers in this occupation will earn between USh1,780 and USh5,436 per hour. This is the conclusion of research carried out by Mywage.org/Uganda, in 2024.

Based on our survey, workers with 30 years of work experience earn the highest salary: between USh445,725 and USh1,295,269 per month. Per hour, workers with 20 years of experience earn between USh1,780 and USh5,436.

Fruit, vegetable and related preservers mostly female

Among the employees who share information on their wages and working conditions, most are female. Workers in this occupation who answered the survey are mostly between 24 and 29 years of age.

Average working week of 46 hours

Coverage by collective bargaining amongst workers is 2%, while 98% are not covered by a collective agreement, according to our survey. Workers work 46 hours per week on average.

Coworkers mostly female

98% of workers in this occupation state that they have no permanent contract for their job. In most cases, workers report that the majority of their coworkers are female. 50% of workers have worked 5-10 years since their first job. People in this job who have a permanent contract for the work they are performing, add up to 2%. The majority of people in this job work in organisations of 500 or more employees.
