Buyers who have 25 years of experience in their job, will earn between USh461,390 and USh12,988,795 per month. 58% of workers state that they have no permanent contract for their job. This is made clear in research by Mywage.org/Uganda, conducted in 2023.
Based on our survey, people in this job with 30 years of work experience earn the highest salary: between USh431,582 and USh67,463,993 per month. Per hour, workers with 25 years of experience earn between USh2,220 and USh62,494.
Based on the survey results, most employees are male. The age group for employees who answered the survey was mostly between 24 and 29 years of age. 44% of workers in this occupation state that they do not have any children.
According to our survey, coverage by collective bargaining among employees is set at 9%. 91% are not covered by a collective agreement. Workers in this occupation work 43 hours per week on average.
Majority organisations employ 500 or more workers
Since starting their first job, 51% of workers have worked fewer than 5 years. Workers in this occupation who have a permanent contract for the work they are performing, add up to 42%. Workers mostly work in organisations consisting of 500 or more people. Workers in this occupation who do not have a permanent contract for the work they are performing, added up to 58% of respondents. Of the participating workers, 28% work in a multinational organisation. For most workers, the majority of their coworkers are female.
The survey shows that 7% of the workers feel highly dissatisfied about their position. In general, most people in this job are satisfied with their position. This is the case for 36% of the people in this job.
Among the people in this job, 26% reported they are dissatisfied with their wage. Generally, 28% of the employees report they are highly dissatisfied with their salary.
