How do I search for a job in the Bahamas?

• Do your research and find out whether there is a demand for your skills or not. 

• If you have specific companies you would like to work for in mind, check their websites. You might find job openings on there or even how to get in touch with the recruiting team. 
• Check job offers on online job boards like as LinkedIn or CaribbeanJobsOnline.
• Contact a professional recruitment agency. Call or message them first in order to check if your CV would be of interest and if there are any positions that could match your profile.
• Let your network know that you are searching for a job. They might know someone recruiting!
• Stay open to the jobs you do get offered. 

After sending out my CV – what is next?

• Make sure that your contact information is clear for the recruiter in case they need to contact you.
• If the employer does call you, you may have to prepare for an interview. 
• Be certain that you understand the job requirements and the role itself. Do some research on the company culture. Be ready to talk more in depth about what you have written down in your CV.
• Listen to what the employer is offering you. Don’t be shy to ask questions and get clarification.
• Don’t forget to dress professionally and get to your interview on time.
• You can get in touch with the recruiter after the interview. Thank them and offer to give out any further information that might be required.  
• Be patient for a few days or weeks in order to see what the outcome will be.

STAY MOTIVATED! You might get very few interviews after sending out dozens of CVs. You might also get rejected after an interview. It’s important to stay focused and not give up.
