23 March 2020As the count of COVID-19 (novel Coronavirus) cases in Mauritius continue to rise, the spokesperson of the National Communication Committee on COVID-19, Dr Zouberr Joomaye announced a nationwide curfew from 23rd March until 2 April. In order to financially support vulnerable people during these times, the government has announced a wage support scheme, pitching in to pay 50% of the basic salary of those earning MUR 25,000 to MUR 50,000.
