  • 12 November 2019 - Dr. Uma Ramakrishnan, the former IMF Mission Chief for Jamaica, has attributed the success of the Economic Reform Programme (ERP) to the broad-based stakeholder ownership of the reforms. The ERP was done to generate sustained economic growth and long-term development of Jamaica.   • 8 November 2019 - One thousand staff members of the Scotia Bank have threatened to strike unless the company makes a deal with the Bustamante Industrial Trade Union (BITU) of Jamaica. Customers of the bank could face difficulties if the negotiations on a new wage and fringe benefits package do not go well.
