Job satisfaction high among client information workers
31 Dec 2023 - Client information workers that have worked for 30 years, receive between $3,835 and $5,568 per month. 37% of people in this job have worked fewer than 5 years since their first job. This is evident from research conducted by Mywage.org/Australia, in 2023.
Labour Rights Index
With a labour force of over 13.5 million people, Australia received a composite score of 77 on WageIndicator’s 2022 Labour Rights Index. This meant that the country’s laws provided “reasonable access to decent work” to its citizens.
According to WageIndicator data, issues like Safe Working Conditions, Maternity Allowances at work, Fair Treatment, and eradication of Child and Forced labour are almost completely resolved, all receiving a score of 100. However, there is still immense progress to be made in terms of Employment and Social Security, with scores as low as 20 and 40, respectively. These low ratings are caused by the fact that Australian law does not require a 30-day notice before contract termination, written employment contracts, paid sick leave, or unemployment benefits.
As a developed country, Australia is an outlier in not guaranteeing its citizens decent working conditions through relevant labour laws. Learn more about the Labour Rights Index of Australia and how it measures up against other countries.

On the other hand, working from home has become a common aspect of many jobs. This is called telework. It greatly reduces hours spent in travel. A Deloitte report says that 12.6% of Australian workers are teleworking more than eight hours in a week. Find out more about travel time compensation in Australia.
